Divisive Dan Forest
Making North Carolina “First in Hate”

Dan Forest built his political career by stoking divisions and championing hateful policies that hurt the people of North Carolina and its economy. It’s no surprise that Dan Forest has earned the support of dangerous far-right extremists who want to send North Carolina backwards.
Divisive Dan On The Issues

Downplaying COVID-19
Forest has downplayed the severity and spread misinformation about COVID-19. He’s argued against social distancing measures that protect people with pre-existing conditions and supports the fringe ReOpenNC protests organized by a far-right anti-vaxxer.

LGBTQ Discriminiation
Forest has characterized the LGBTQ community as sexual predators. He opposed marriage equality, championed the disastrous HB2 Bathroom Bill, and supported legislation that would allow businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ people. Forest has also been endorsed by anti-LGBTQ hate groups.

Racism & Bigotry
Dan Forest believes that diversity and multiculturalism is destroying America. He defended racist groups and supports a discriminatory voter ID law recently struck down by the court because it would suppress Black votes. He also falsely accused immigrants of attacking thousands of children, citing debunked data from a hate group.

Attacks on Women's Health
Dan Forest wants to eliminate a woman’s right to make personal decisions about their pregnancy. He supports extreme abortion bans and wants to see Roe v. Wade overturned. Before running for governor, Forest was on the board of an organization that spread biased and inaccurate information about abortion.
Divisive Dan Forest’s Extreme Friends:
Forest’s extreme friends show us exactly how he would govern North Carolina. He’s campaigned with far-right extremists and is endorsed by dangerous hate groups.

American Renewal Project
Dan Forest was a special guest at this hate group’s private event. According to its founder, David Lane, the group seeks to engage in a religious “culture war” that targets Muslim and LGBTQ people. Lane also believes the country is “doomed” if we don’t dismantle public education.
Family Research Council
Dan Forest is endorsed by FRC, a hate group that uses junk science to denigrate the LGBTQ community as it fights against same-sex marriage, hate crime laws, anti-bullying programs, and more.

Virginia Foxx
Congresswoman Foxx headlined Forest’s campaign kick-off and has a history of opposing civil rights. She used a racial slur on the House floor and voted against renewing the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Charlie Kirk
Dan Forest has campaigned with Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, an extreme group known for espousing racist views.

North Carolina Values Coalition
Dan Forest said he was “honored” to be endorsed by this far-right group that has been at the forefront of almost every anti-LGBTQ effort in North Carolina, including the discriminatory and job-killing HB2.
Mark Robinson
During the COVID-19 crisis, Dan Forest ran ads in support of Mark Robinson, a far-right birther conspiracy theorist running for lieutenant governor. Robinson has called the LGBTQ community “devil worshipping child molesters,” said the Parkland shooting survivors were “silly little immature media prosti-tots,” and called Black Democrats “slaves.”

Hal Weatherman
Weatherman served as a staffer and campaign manager for Dan Forest. Weatherman previously worked at ACT! For America, an anti-Muslim hate group that collaborates with neo-Nazis and promotes conspiracy theories.
Robin Webster
Dan Forest fundraised with Robin Webster, the leader of Word of Faith—a dangerous cult that reportedly beats infants, children, and LGBTQ people for hours to “expel demons” and then refuses to let them seek medical attention.
